Description and Purpose of the Study

This is an observational study in which a number of phenomena occurring in programming tasks are being investigated. To do this, we will ask you to perform some specific development tasks using an integrated development environment (IDE) provided by us. The study is being performed by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Bremen.

The study’s purpose is to investigate several phenomena of software development and the possible relations between them. This means we want to find out some general information about the occurrence of specific phenomena while working on programming tasks. We are not interested in any specific individual's data.

Collected Data

The following data will be collected as part of the study:

You will be assigned a code number which will protect your identity. All data will be kept in secured files, in accord with the standards of the University, E.U. regulations, and the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations. No identifying data will be stored or recorded.
